Bicycle Safety Programs

Tricycle Safety Village Image1:

Tricycle Safety Village - This is a 40 minute hands-on exercise, geared to ECE, Kindergarten and Grade 1 classes, conducted by Officer Bob Montoya of the Denver Police Department.  The course, which may be set up in a large indoor area or on the playground, utilizes tricycles and teaches traffic sign/signal recognition, and bicycle traffic rules.

Bicycle Rodeos - Officer Bob Montoya of the Denver Police Department provides assistance to schools wishing to conduct bicycle rodeos. Rodeos are geared to Grades 2-5. Students bring their own bicycles to maneuver through a skills course. Helmets are required. Rodeos teach bicycle skills, the rules of the road, recognition of road hazards and injury prevention.

There is no cost to your school for these programs. Tricycle Safety Village and Bicycle Rodeos are available on a limited scheduling basis with Officer Montoya.  For more information or to schedule a program, contact Officer Bob Montoya at (720) 865-6945.
