DPS Safety and Health Calendar Art Contest

The 2008 DPS Safety and Health Calendar Art Contest is the seventh annual contest for DPS students.  Winning artwork will serve as monthly illustrations for the 2008-2009 DPS Safety and Health Calendar.  The calendar is designed to promote safety and health awareness and will be distributed to all DPS classrooms and departments in August 2008.

Contest Deadline:  Friday, February 15, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.  

Contest Packets:  Click here to download the 2008 art contest packet [pdf].  Packets for the 2008 Calendar Art Contest are being distributed to all DPS visual arts teachers and art department heads the week of January 7, 2008.

Tips for Success:

• Use the Themed Lesson Plans from the Contest Packet to give your students ideas for the messages they will portray.
• Show your students the current and past years' calendars and encourage them to be creative and come up with a different look for next year's calendar.
• Check out the websites listed in each lesson plan for ideas on each theme.
