Teen Driving

Traffic crashes are the #1 cause of teen deaths.  Young drivers between the ages of 16 and 24 are more than twice as likely to be involved in fatal crashes as older drivers.  One third of teen traffic deaths are alcohol related. Contributing factors to teen traffic crashes include:

  • Inexperience
  • Distractions
  • Peer pressure
  • Tendency to underestimate risk
  • Drinking and driving
