Safety Calendar Art Contest
Art Contest Winners Selected for 2009-2010 Safety Calendar
Congratulations to the winners of this year's DPS Safety and Health Calendar Art Contest. The judging committee selected 12 pieces of artwork to be featured each month on the 2009–2010 DPS Safety Calendar. In 2009, we received 192 entries from 11 elementary, five K–8 schools, one middle/high school, and three high schools. All participating artists received Certificates of Appreciation. Winning artists and their families, as well as DPS art teachers and principals, the Board of Education, superintendent, and senior staff, were invited to a reception honoring the artists at the Denver Firefighters Museum. Thank you to the art teachers and students who participated in this year's contest for helping to promote safety and health in Denver Public Schools. Calendars were distributed to all DPS schools in early August 2009.
Check back for information on the 2010 Calendar Art Contest. Contest packets will be sent out in early January 2010 to all DPS schools, attention Visual Arts Teachers. The packet will also be posted on this web page. The deadline has not yet been set, but is usually in mid/late February. For more information, contact Debbie_Beck@dpsk12.org in Risk Management.
