2013 DPS Safety Calendar Art Contest Results are in!

The 2013 DPS Safety Calendar Art Contest results are in. Art contest packets went out to all DPS principals and visual arts teachers at the beginning of January. The deadline was February 28 and the judging took place in March. Click here to download a list of the 2013-2014 Safety Calendar Artists and their teachers. The artwork of these DPS student artists will be featured in the 2013-2014 DPS Safety and Health Calendar. Congratulations to the artists and their teachers! Thank you to all the student artists and teachers who participated in this year's contest.

Safety Books Distributed to DPS Elementary Schools

In September 2012, two books on safety were distributed to all DPS elementary and K-8 schools. The books, published by Capstone Press, are Staying Safe around Strangers by Lucia Raatma and What If a Stranger Approaches You? by Anara Guard and illustrated by Colleen M. Madden. Look for these books in your school library. They are appropriate for use by teachers, parents and students in grades ECE-3.
